Helicopter to the Rallye Monte-Carlo

WRC season opener, mountain stages, a finish in Monaco — and January weather to plan around.

Book now

Every January, the WRC season opens with the Rallye Monte-Carlo: special stages on closed mountain roads in the hinterland, and a finish in Monaco itself. For manufacturers, sponsors and their guests, the challenge is not distance but winter logistics. Nice to Monaco takes seven minutes by helicopter.

Peak demand

Book 4 to 8 weeks ahead. Demand runs 5 to 10× normal volumes.

Why helicopter

  • The rally closes roads across the hinterland and brings the finish into Monaco, with closures around the Port at exactly the hours guests arrive.
  • Nice to Monaco is a seven-minute flight. During rally week, with the corniche roads loaded and closures shifting day by day, the road transfer becomes hard to predict.
  • Manufacturer and sponsor programmes combine stage viewing inland with hospitality in Monaco. A fixed helicopter transfer keeps the Monaco end of the day intact even when the inland schedule slips.
  • January days are short. Flying the coastal leg early protects the part of your programme that cannot move — the evening in Monaco.

Practical info

  1. 01

Book early: rally week compresses arrivals into a few days and Monaco heliport slots are contingented.

  2. 02

Winter flying is planned honestly: flights operate under visual flight rules (VFR) and January weather windows are shorter than in summer. If conditions close in, we arrange a private car transfer as fallback.

  3. 03

We coordinate with your hotel concierge, team or hospitality manager in Monaco so the ground connection is confirmed before departure.

  4. 04

Share your stage-viewing plans with us: we can advise realistic timings between inland viewing points and Monaco, and set your flight time accordingly.

Frequently asked questions

What does a helicopter transfer cost during the rally?

+

It depends on routing, aircraft and timing, and January operations carry their own constraints. Every request is quoted individually — contact us and we will respond with a firm proposal, on request.

Can we book at short notice during rally week?

+

Sometimes — the Nice–Monaco leg is short and frequent, which helps. But slots at Monaco are contingented and winter weather reduces the margin for improvisation. The earlier you book, the more likely your preferred time holds.

Can you fly us to the special stages inland?

+

The stages run through mountainous terrain where landing options depend on authorisations, terrain and winter conditions. Our core service during the rally is the Nice–Monaco transfer; inland requests are studied case by case with our operations team, on request.
