Late September – early October 2026
Helicopter to Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez
Classic yachts fill the gulf; a single road feeds the village. Fly over both.
From late September into early October, classic and modern sailing yachts race in the gulf of Saint-Tropez. The village fills well beyond its capacity, and the route des Maures — the only road in — becomes a slow-moving funnel. From Nice, Grimaud heliport is twenty-two minutes away by helicopter; from Monaco, twenty-five.
Peak demand
Book 4 to 8 weeks ahead. Demand runs 5 to 10× normal volumes.
Why helicopter
- ✓Saint-Tropez is reached by a single road, and during Les Voiles the route des Maures backs up for hours in both directions. There is no clever routing around it by car.
- ✓Nice to Grimaud takes about twenty-two minutes in the air; Monaco to Grimaud about twenty-five. The same journeys by road can stretch well beyond two hours during the regatta weeks.
- ✓Race starts follow the morning breeze, not your travel plans. Flying in means being on the quay — or on board — before the fleet leaves the dock.
- ✓Many guests split the week between a yacht in the gulf and commitments in Monaco or Nice. The helicopter makes a same-day return genuinely workable.
Practical info
- 01
Reserve early: the regatta concentrates demand on Grimaud and landing slots are contingented during the event.
- 02
We coordinate with your captain, villa staff or concierge so a car — or a tender pickup — is confirmed before you take off.
- 03
Flights operate under visual flight rules (VFR); if conditions rule out flying, we arrange a private car transfer as fallback, planned with enough margin to protect your day.
- 04
Grimaud heliport sits at the head of the gulf, about fifteen minutes by road from the village and the port outside peak congestion.

Frequently asked questions
What does a transfer for Les Voiles cost?
+
Pricing depends on routing, aircraft and timing, and regatta dates carry their own slot constraints. Each request is quoted individually — contact us and we will come back with a firm proposal, on request.
Is last-minute booking possible during the regatta?
+
Occasionally. Grimaud slots are limited during Les Voiles and morning arrivals sell out first. Book as soon as your dates are set; if you are already on the Riviera and need to move today, call us and we will give you a straight answer on availability.
Will we see the racing from the helicopter?
+
Transfer routings follow published approaches and keep clear of the race area, but the approach to Grimaud often gives a wide view of the fleet in the gulf. A dedicated scenic flight outside the racing restrictions can be arranged, on request.
