Cannes-Mandelieu airfield lies west of the town, a few minutes from the Croisette and the Palais des Festivals. It is the reference platform for light aviation and helicopters in this stretch of coast, and the departure point for Saint-Tropez when the gulf road is saturated.
When to go
Two very clear annual peaks: the Cannes Film Festival in May and Cannes Lions in June. The Yachting Festival in September creates a third, shorter one.
