The helipad
Getting there
The Avoriaz helipad serves the only major fully car-free resort in the Portes du Soleil, perched at around 1,800 metres above the Morzine valley. No cars circulate in the resort: the last stretch is covered by sleigh or snowcat, as with every arrival in Avoriaz.
When to go
Season from December to April, following the rhythm of the Portes du Soleil ski area. The car-free resort lives mainly in winter; in summer, flights operate on request.
FAQ
Frequently asked
Can the helicopter connect with a scheduled flight into Geneva?
Yes. At about 25 minutes' flight, Avoriaz is the shortest Alpine connection from Geneva on the network: departure is timed to your arrival, with a margin for luggage delivery.
How does ski equipment reach the residence?
Ski bags travel in the aircraft hold, then load with your luggage onto the sleigh or snowcat, as the resort is closed to cars. State the volume at booking.
What happens if the weather closes the flight window?
The flight operates under visual flight rules. If conditions do not allow it, it is brought forward, postponed or replaced by a chauffeured road transfer to Avoriaz via Morzine, with the final stretch still by snowcat.
