The helipad

Getting there

Mürren clings to a narrow terrace facing the Jungfrau, Mönch and Eiger, with no access road at all. You climb by the Grütschalp cable car and then the small train that runs along the cliff. The neighbouring registered sites, such as Blumental, are mountain platforms: arrival is at Lauterbrunnen.

Where you land

There is no registered landing site in the resort itself. The flight lands at Lauterbrunnen, then about 20 minutes by cable car then train to the resort. See the Lauterbrunnen page

When to go

Winter from December to April, with the Inferno in January. In summer, Mürren remains one of the most spectacular balconies in the Oberland, with access to the Schilthorn.

FAQ

Frequently asked

How do you get up to Mürren?

By the Grütschalp cable car from Lauterbrunnen, then the train along the cliff — about twenty minutes in total. There is no road.

Can you land higher, towards Blumental or the Schilthorn?

The registered sites in that sector are mountain platforms, meant for mountain flying rather than transfers. The practical arrival remains Lauterbrunnen.

What does the journey cost?

No fixed fare is published. The flight is quoted individually; the cable car and train are taken locally.
