The helipad
Getting there
Wengen is a car-free village perched above the Lauterbrunnen valley, facing the Jungfrau. No road climbs to it: access is by rack railway from Lauterbrunnen. The nearest registered sites, the Lauberhorn among them, are high-altitude platforms reserved for mountain flying — so arrival is at Lauterbrunnen.
Where you land
There is no registered landing site in the resort itself. The flight lands at Lauterbrunnen, then about 15 minutes on the rack railway to the resort. See the Lauterbrunnen page
When to go
Winter from December to April, with Lauberhorn week in January as the peak of the season. In summer the village remains a busy hiking base, still car-free.

FAQ
Frequently asked
Can you reach Wengen by car or directly by helicopter?
Neither. Wengen is car-free and has no transfer landing site. You land at Lauterbrunnen and climb by rack railway in about fifteen minutes.
What if the flight is delayed?
The train runs to a fixed timetable, so a delay can push the climb back. We time the slot to the day's schedule and flag the last useful departure.
What does the journey cost?
No fixed fare is published. The flight is quoted individually; the train is taken locally.
