The helipad

Getting there

Lauterbrunnen sits at the bottom of a steep glacial valley, known for the waterfalls that drop from its walls — the Staubbach among them. Its site is listed in the federal register, and it is from here that the rack railway climbs to Wengen and the cable car to Grütschalp, from which Mürren is reached. Neither resort can be reached by car.

When to go

Winter from December to April for Wengen, Mürren and the Jungfrau Ski Region — the Lauberhorn descent above Wengen is the longest on the World Cup circuit. In summer the valley lives on hiking and its waterfalls.
